Mission Statement: To operate exclusively for educational purposes through promoting and displaying African American inventions that influence and affect the social awareness of the contributions that helped build this great nation.
The Museum opened February 25, 1996 in The Central West End of St. Louis, MO. The community greeted this tribute to Black Inventors by visiting the museum in record numbers, so much that the museum could not accommodate the number of request for groups. What a terrific way to start a new community organization.
It was quickly realized that a larger site was needed however, the budget did not allow for any such drastic changes. The board voted to meet the communities' demand by traveling. The “Knowledge on Wheels Traveling Exhibit” was created as out of a demand from the public for us to reach and teach more people about Black Inventors. Our goal to expand and re-open at a local site, but larger site has become reality.
Participate in the Donate $1 Raffle to have the traveling Exhibit on display at your school or Organization.
We look forward to your continued support.
